LG Powers Up Its EV Charger Solutions Business with HiEV Charger’s Cutting-Edge Portfolio

    Introduction:

In a bold move to strengthen its foothold in the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) charger segment, LG Electronics (LG) has officially expanded its EV charger solutions business. The celebration of this significant step took place during a ceremony held on May 25, 2023, where HiEV Charger, an LG-affiliated company, unveiled its latest portfolio of convenient and reliable electric vehicle chargers. This development positions LG as a key player in the global EV charging market, which is projected to reach USD 186 billion by 2030, according to Roland Berger.

    HiEV Charger Portfolio:

Acquired by LG, GS Energy, and GS Neotek in 2022, HiEV Charger, formerly known as AppleMango, introduced its impressive product lineup during the ceremony. The portfolio includes two 7kW models, available in both wall-mounted and stand-type designs, as well as two fast-charging models boasting capacities of 100kW and 200kW. Designed for diverse environments, such as homes, office buildings, and commercial facilities, these chargers offer both convenience and reliability.

    Advanced Safety Features:

HiEV Charger’s new EV chargers are not only convenient but also prioritize safety. They are water- and dust-resistant, equipped with features ensuring electrical and thermal protection throughout the charging process. The chargers’ slim depth optimizes space usage, and the inclusion of two connectors allows simultaneous charging of two EVs. Additional features such as connector lock detection and remote updates contribute to simple and efficient management.

    LG’s Expertise and Global Vision:

LG’s entry into the EV charging solution business is backed by its extensive expertise in manufacturing, quality control, after-sales service, and supply chain management. By leveraging its know-how from both the business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) sectors, LG aims to provide differentiated solutions and elevate customer experiences. Looking beyond the domestic market, LG has ambitious plans for global expansion, with upcoming EV charging product launches and collaborations worldwide.

Sustained Success in the EV Charging Solution Business:

Suh Heung-kyu, Vice President and Head of the Electric Vehicle Charging Business Division at LG Electronics Business Solutions Company, emphasized the significance of this milestone, stating, “The start of EV charger production marks a significant milestone for LG, propelling us on a journey to becoming a total EV charging solutions provider.” LG’s commitment is to focus on delivering convenient and fast EV charging solutions for EV owners, along with differentiated offerings and new services for valued partners.

    Conclusion:

With a focus on safety, convenience, and global collaboration, LG is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of electric vehicle charging.
